A 13 year old shoplifts in ohio what happens?
so my 13 year old cousin tried shoplifting a CD player from cvs and got caught. she said they took her to a room with the manager and she asked her questions such as name birthday and phone number. then they called like a corprate manager and asked somthing like if they should press charges he said no. the police didnt come or anything but they walked her out to her grandfathers car told him what happened and then told her mother. when your a minor do they still put shoplifting on your record or anything??
Answers:
no formal charges,no record..its ok as long as she doesnt do it again...
In her case, they didn't press charges so she was incredibly lucky not to have been processed.
When i was about that age i had a whole bunch of stuff on my record, mostly for vandalism, public nuisance, destruction of public property and some for fighting. As soon as i turned 18 my lawyer took me to some court for a hearing and all that stuff i got arrested on as a minor got erased from my permanent record. I think thats the case for most places...
