I quit my job on 6/28...what are good reasons to convince the Work Labor for the interview I have on 8/2?

I had several problems with my job at the Hotel. It was overwelming and very disciminative atmosphere which lead me to a dead end for 8 months...with No raise$ no Breaks while having extended work hrs. My report to Human Resourses for 3 months were ignored with No solution given to me NOT EVEN TO TRANFER ME IN ANOTHER DEPARTMENT when there were several open positions...actually I was forced to work in a very chaotic atmosphere with some trainee managers whom their job was to have 5 breaks to smoke...and midnight seat at Hotel's bar enjoying them selfs...while I was working to accomplish their uncovered responsibilities.
Trainnee Managers of course QUIT and I my self did the same 2 days after...What should I say to work labor department to convince them that this job was causing me emotional distress? I just want to collect my benefits until I get another full time job...The Hotel's HR director is trying to sabotage me not to get my Unemployment $$$ cause I quit...+ walked out...!

I take it you are very young and unseasoned in the job market, with the patience level to match. Was this your first job?

If you walked out or QUIT, you are not eligible for unemployment benefits. If they fired you after 90 days on the job you would be eligible. At least, that's how it is in most states, and pretty much what federal law states.

A lot depends on how long you were on the job... 8 months isn't much. Most places transfer or promote based on how long you have been there (seniority) and your performance on the job (performance reviews). Whiners don't get promoted.

It is possible that the corporate culture of that place is to make things hard on trainee managers so they will keep the survivors... the ones who are quick to learn.

I can tell you that most supervisors will prefer people who can bring them SOLUTIONS along with the problems they table for discussion.

Another thing I will add is that if someone has a reputation for being complainer or whiner, they probably will not get any respect from HR and more than likely will be targeted to get all the doghouse tasks in an effort to make them quit.

Get your resume together and line up some interviews. If you are good at what you do, you should be able to line up a new job fast. When you interview... no matter what... do not "dis" the place you quit or any of the people. Why, will you say, did you quit? You could say you decided to explore other options and careers, and needed the time to do some research.

You need specific events or lawlessness by the employer to have any chance of a case. You need dates, names and times. But find a Social Security lawyer in the phone book. They usually work on a percentage if they win for you.
If you quit or walk out you CANNOT collect your Unemployment $$$.

The Department of Labor, will not approve your Unemployment Benefits
Yeah, you need a good attorney if this is true to the best of your recollection.
There are plenty of attorney's out there waiting for you to call them up, with a good story of course.
If you just weren't happy, this is not just cause for collecting.
You can also call the Labor Board and file a complaint and let them investigate.

The employer has to have had a bad work environment. You need witnesses etc. otherwise you're all alone and just have to suck in the old waistband, until you find another job.
