What does not guilty by reason of insanity mean?

It means that the person may have commited the crime, but they did not know what they were doing at the time of the crime. The person has to be judged incompetent by a professional. Then they will go to a mental health facility and every 6 months be re-checked by the professional.


Means they have a psychological disorder for committing the crime.
It means that someone committed a crime, but they can not be held accountable because they were not sane at the time of the offense.
it means you're insane therefore not in your right mind to have comitted the crime therefore you are not guilty
It means they have been examined by a doctor and are clinically insane, and didn't know what they were doing or didn't remember it. Most people who are not guilty by reason of insanity have to go to mental institutions anyways, instead of jail.
Means you have to go to the luney farm till they get you straight then you go to the penitentiary to finish out your sentence .
Exactly what it says, the person is not responsible for their actions because they were insane and could not understand that whatn they were doing was wrong.
