Who thinks random drug testing should be required by Federal law at the work place?

This is why I think it should.A great number of employers have a habit of employing drug attics because they move fast and get more work done. But here's my problem.Since I don't do drugs,I don't move as fast and then my boss would ride my a** telling me that I need to pick up the pace.I almost got fired a few times because of it.It seems like drug attics are more likely the first to be given a chance than anyone else and its bull s***.A lot of businesses with those kind of values are practically encouraging drug use.So basically, people like me get punished for not puffing on a glass pipe.Last time I checked it was supose to be the other way around.I tthink a law like that would really help out the people who don't do drugs in the first place.

And you're still working there because?

Maybe not not federal but state...but insurance companies should give larger beaks (Better Rates) on the companies that do drug testing. It only makes sense. Less accidents, more intelligent production, etc. More of the money saved can go to employee benefits, etc. And when the Federal taxes are divied up to the States...the ones with a higher "percentage" of of drug free companies and programs get more, period.

Also I had a post here about drug testing folks who receive state and federal aide. If I'm drug tested to earn my pay that's taxed...shouldn't they be drug tested to receive it?

So if no drugies can work due to testing, or receive bennifits, and state/federal aide either...we would definately know who the drugies were...eventualy they would straighten out or perish. No demand for drugs...no supply needed...the drug problem goes away. :-)

I don't. Move faster.
Wow, you really make some jumps there, don't ya?

Doing drugs generally doesn't make someone much faster, although it can keep them more awake at times.

I do believe in random drug testing -- I don't have a thing to worry about since I don't use.

But I wouldn't blame the fact that you are getting told to pick up the pace on not doing drugs. You need to figure out why you aren't as fast as the others -- likely you are not doing things as efficiently as you should do them.
I don't understand what you are talking about. Drug addicts per say do not function very well. If someone is high they do not have their act together and make mistakes, sometimes critical mistakes. If you are working 8 hrs a day 40 hrs a week, you can not be consistently high and function. Also, a lot of business do have drug testing and if they do not enforce it, if they think you are doing drugs they can and probably will send you out for a drug test. Business do not encourage drug taking because they are liable if that person makes some sort of a mistake.
From the mid 80's to the early 90's they did a random computer test of employees, so many picked each time. It was determined that this was discrimination and now if one is tested the whole crew must be tested. It becomes very spendy. I have been tested many times for new employment but not after--since around 1995. Sorry you are having such a time of it. The exception to the rule is any accident at work, that person is usually tested at once.
I think that all elected public servants (politicians) should be subject to random drug tests.
NO. The gov't is involved in to much it should not be now.(And not enough where it should be) . If you are sure you are working around a bunch of tweakers, I would start looking for another job, because this is an accident or lawsuit waiting to happen.
