Can a minor see an R rated film with ANYONE over the age of seventeen?

Or do they have to be accompanied by a legal guardian or parent?

Answers:
They're supposed to be accompanied by a legal guardian or parent, but as long as they're with someone who looks older, or if they themselves look older than 17 you can still get in, they only card if they're unsure of the age.

no it has to be a parent or legal guardian
Technically, it has to be a parent or guardian. However, if they are enough older, then they may be able to get away with it. If an 18 yr. old BF brings a 16 yr old GF, probably it won't work.
It has to be a parent or legal guardian, and most movie theaters DO ask for ID
It does no thave to be a parent. They can card a parent but they cant ask for a birth certificate of the minor so it would be impossible to enforce. Besides, just buy a ticket for a different movie and walk into the R rated one. Good luck
I think it has to be a legal guardian/parent.
where i live u have to be 18 and it dose not matter whether u are related or not
buy a ticket to see a pg movie or whatever and sneak into the R movie. my friends and i did this alot!! just be sneaky! or tell them its like ur brother or sister or something..that works to.
hehehe i know the answer to this one. lol you dont need a parent. just somone over the age of 17. and believe me they dont even check ids if you look like atleast 15.
