They don't have to use vacation days, but they won't get paid, otherwise. Unless you're under contract, they can close whenever they like and not pay you.
hello,, do you have an employee handbook? is this mentioned in there? a lot of places screw their employees out of vacation time (TELEFLEX- OHIO) they are on a power kick and don't care about anyone. in their feeble little world they are the king of turds.
if you are hourly and want to get paid yes but if you are salary you the days the office is closed paid off
Its not right by any means, but it is not against the law. Because of the shutdowns many people were able to gain unemployment but if you are paid with your vacation check you no longer qualify which makes the gov. happy so they allow it. Its a scam to me but its legal.
