What do smokers think about the new Chicago smoking ban?
I heard on the news this morning that Rod Blagovitch has instated a new citywide (perhaps statewide) public smoking ban. I did not get all the details on this, but you can be fined for riding a bike and smoking, and smoking out doors from any restaurants. Whats this guys problem?

It's funny that this is on here today,I watched the news broadcast last night also,Did anyone notice but me that the spokeswoman that had been fighting for this weighed about 500lbs.I love when someone that is obeist tells me they don't want smoke around them.Guess what I don't like fat smelly people around me,so lets be fair lets ban anyone that is 20 pounds overweight out of resturants also.I respect anyone that don't smoke,but on the other hand which is worse,the smoke or the tons of fat.Go to your local wal-mart and sit down on the bench inside,Right ''NO SMOKING''but watch all the fat people load their carts up with fatty foods.Sorry fat people but don't try to ruin my happy life because you want me to look like you.

Pretty soon the smoking bans are going to be countrywide. Now when you travel you don't know what you can do and can't do for fear of being popped for something stupid.
Besides smoking there is the hands free cellphone issue, some cities have laws where you can't talk on your cell when you are driving unless it is hands free, but when you travel how are you to know?
I get tired of being downwind of smokers and having to breathe their second hand smoke.
I'm sorry, I'm a "reformed smoker" or "Smoke Nazi", what ever you want to call me. When I walk out of a store and walk into a cloud of smoke I now want to vomit. That said I can see no reason government has to get in our lives that much. My question is what's next and now that we have allowed this how do we stop it. I think "Crystal Night" was something the people of Germany stood by and watched. Is this what we're doing again? Where is the money to enforce this law going to come from, day care, elder care, fire budget? I'm sorry this is B.S.
It sound good I have Asama and smoke triggers it. I'm tired of inconsiderate people blowing smoke in the direction I have to go, while they relax I have to worry about no being able to breath I don't think so.
