Can some one tell me why my apartment managers are doing things to make everyone else comfortable but not me.?
They dont spray bug spray to kill th eroaches,at night and in day I can see roaches outside all over the ground .its gross I told them about it and no one did anything, the bugs crawl under the door at night and I have to live here with my babies! One of our cars was stolen off the property, and another was broken in to they tried to steel & broke the egnition switch, the repairs came out of our pocket. There is supposed to be security when we signed the lease but there isnt.they put cameras but not enuogh to cover the whole complex.they remodel the apartment next to me and the fumes came into our place for two whole days. Now I they sent us a notice that there will be no more assigned parking spaces because of complaints by people with more than one car want to park where ever they want.they are going to take our assigned parking space!!I cant see my self pregnant, with baby walking to and from car in their dark unprotected parking lot, with all the theives around us! what rights do we have?

Get as much documentation as you can, and send a demand to the apartment manager's manager (who you write the rent check out to, usually). If that doesn't work, call the housing department in your area to file a complaint.
It doesn't need to be specified in your lease in order to get them to keep roaches away from your apartment, especially if you have children in there. They have to provide minumim security and cleanliness. You can charge them for what you paid out of pocket for fixing your car (due to them being negligent and not keeping the parking lot secure), and if they don't pay, you can sue them for it.
Also, if your lease says you get a parking spot, then they can't go back on that unless you (and other people who also signed a lease with the same terms) agree to it.
If writing a letter to the manager / real estate company doesn't work, call the Housing department in your area, and the Legal Aid office in your area to get some more specific legal advice.
I have an idea....Move out of the ghetto, and into a nicer apartment complex. That is of course assuming that your ducks in a row...
Cockroaches - videotape them. Both outside, and as they crawl in to your apartment. There are laws against them.
Security - see your contract (or other information) for where it specifies what the security should be. If it doesn't corrolate with what is actually present, and you have payed for it, then you have the right t get extra security, or a refund. It may be, if the above was the case, that you can take it to court and claim that they are reponsible for the car break - ins.
There may also be laws rgarding dark, unprotected areas. Some places require that such areas are eliminated.
I think you should seek lega counselling. They will proberly give you advice for free. It is much easier then reading the laws yourself. Look up law firms that deal in living situations, or what it is known as. Good luck.
