It's often said that capital punishment is a deterrent to crime, yet there's not one shred of evidence that this is so. People still commit murders. Capital punishment is not about justice. It is about vengeance. I do not believe in capital punishment under any circumstances. Killing is killing. Just because someone commits a murder, does that give the state the right to kill that person? I don't think so.

Though I am not much in favour of punishment per se and do feel that every person should be given a chance but such chances cannot be given to rapists and child molestors. I strongly feel that ppl who commit such insane crimes should be surely wiped out of our society and our system!
It will never happen in the UK, it has neven been proven that it works as a deterrent to crime. Its a very emotive issue, because when you hear of say a child being abducted and murdered, the call is for a return to hanging, but where do you stop. I have been there myself, baying for blood, but thats in the heat of the moment.There have been too many miscarriages of justice, where innocent people have been hanged for it to brought back. The judicial system should be one that punishes people who have committed a crime, according to the nature of that crime. I am aware like everyone else that doesn't always happen.
All terrorists who are proven to have maimed and killed innocent people should be sentenced to life imprisonment, and never come out, if we hang them doesn't that make us as bad as them or turn them into martyrs to their cause.
Ian Huntley should stay in jail for the rest of his life, I know the prison system is overburdened and costly, but we don't have an alternative.
The trouble with capital punishment is, you can't bring a person back if eventually they are found innocent. However, we have no deterrent in this country against murder. I firmly believe that capitla punishment should be brought back for serial killers and paedophiles who kill their victims.
The death penalty is not vengeance. Everybody makes the mistake of thinking of it in those terms. The death penalty is societies way of saying to the offender, " Because of your deeds, you are no longer fit to remain in society. We have determined that you are incapable of rehabilitation and your crimes so hienous that you are to be terminated"

If killing someone is wrong, then it is wrong. CP is philosophically corrupt, because it makes killing people wrong only in some circumstances.
The US has some of the highest crime figure in the World. How has CP been a disincentive to commit crime. The current crime wave the UK is related to juveniles, and is clearly located in the destruction of the family. Best way of sorting out your policy mismanagement? Yeah bring back CP, and lets hang some kids like we did in the 17th century!
