Is Zee TV unknowingly promoting illegal drugs?
On Sa re ga ma pa challenge 2007 Independence day special episode, one of the judge [the bold headed one] was wearing a T-Shirt which has a marijuana leaf printed on front. I have watched that show in USA. In USA, such attire on TV will bring criticism, a hefty fine and more restrictions on that TV station by the government. Is India trying to soften drug laws by allowing such attire? By airing such, I feel that Zee TV has unknowingly created a bad impression on new generation. Sholud Zee TV and the responsible person apologize to the public for such mistake? Should Indian Government revisit their laws?
Answers:
hello hari om ,
what u have written about the t shirt and a leaf ? may be general public will not recognise ? but if its bad and about drugs honestly i feel one should omit it and so a judge should show some resposibility towards the citizen and growing kids as to make a show of good things and not connected to drugs
But its 14 today so we willl watch it 2morow lets see
i have doubts whether people in India would be able to identify the leaf... as marijuana leaf... unless it is written on it... we cannot accuse a TV channel for this hypothetical reason...
I do not believe in the US that we would do anything to that person or that station.
The station may have internal rules about it but the Government does not.
awareness about drugs has no link with t-shirts,... these r petty issues, and there is much more to concentrate on than prints on t-shirts.. we would prove to be a much responsible citizen by actually differentiating b/w issues which need our attention than wasting time money and resources on such things.
