Why isn't marijauna legal?

Answers:
Marijuana is illegal because the paper, tobacco, and other special interest groups would lose money so they lobby to keep it illegal. Such companies also funnel millions of dollars into politicians pickets to make sure that it stays that way. I bet if you looked hard enough you could find connections between those companies and the anti-pot ads on t.v. and other places. There actually is a movement to get weed legalized spearheaded by very wealthy businessmen who spend millions of dollars and lots of time. There are all kinds of stories like that all over the Internet. The government shouldn't be able to say what we put in our bodies especially something that isn't that bad for you. Weed also has numerous medical applications such as, treatment for glaucoma, used in the prevention of Alzheimer's, and can help with over 250 different diseases.

Because the majority of people says it isn't!

Thank God!
Too many Republican campaign contributors are making big money selling it.
i have no idea
its natural
they give it to sick people
but then again why isnt heroin?
vicodin is the same exact thing but a small dose
One you can grow it to easy and then the government could not make any money off of it.. They could not control it if you grew your own. So this is the main reason. Now if you give up your rights, and let the government have them I bet they would grow it like tobacco.
I never smoked it but I do know it does help a lot of people going bllind and those sick with aides, cancer and other things.
This question has been asked many times.

Marijuana is hard to tax and regulate because anyone can grow their own.
It's all hype it was unfounded scientific documentation that got mj banned in the first place. Its because the people for the most part were listening but they weren't looking for factual analysis. The US government would save a lot of time and tax dollars if money was spent to rehabilitate junkies instead of hassling people for growing and using herbs
Hard to regulate.
And too much fun. I guess??

It's Federally illegal.
If they catch you, you go to jail.

I know 2 people with Canabus cards.
Outside the Clubs, there are 3 and 4 guards with guns!
Very few liquor stores have guards.

Banks on the 1st of the month have gurads. And money is legal?
It isnt legal because do you realize how much money the Gov makes off all the busts? Its all about the green my friend and dont let anyone tell you otherwise.
It is too hard to tax.
The government is making more money from the cotton, prescription drug, tobacco and alcohol companies.
These industries know thy could never compete.
In my opinion? The same reason that I can't pee or have sex in the street. Christians might be tempted to do it too and realize that it's all natural and there is nothing wrong with it! By the way I am THE ALL AMERICAN!!
Simply put marijuana is a stepping stone to other drugs that are bad for a persons health. Of course I happen to believe that alcohol is just as bad if not worse.

One can also look at some long time users and see why. Theyhave no drive to improve themselves.
it was, and was grown in America until the 1930's when Mexican workers were getting the few jobs left around duringt he great depression. the government blamed marijuana on mexicans. the govt used this as a reason to 1. kick mexicans out of america, and 2. make marijuana illegal.
