Doesnt building a fence around our southern border sound like a plot from a B movie?
What a stupid thing for our govt.. which is already spending a crapload of money on picking fights all over the world... to spend money on. I mean I support immigration laws, but this is a waste of money if ever there was one. Like someone is motivated enough to swim a nasty trash filled river and chance walking through the desert without a compass they wont get past that?! What does our president think there are no wire cutters south of the border?

Not to me - good fences make good neighbors. Actually a moat filled with gators would be better - there's your movie.
Actually it sounds like a government protecting it's citizens from unwanted intrusion from foreigners. I guess you could zap them with a ray gun from satellite and turn them into a gooey mess but a fence gives the government another tool in keeping out foreigners.
i totally agree with you.and here is a funny one also...years ago i watched a 'b' movie an the way it started was like a news alert."Today 150,000 americans escaped into Mexico". my son and i could not believe it, so we rewound the tape and played it back...sure enough.it was the reverse...Americans escaping into Mexico.I think we laughed for 20 minutes.don't remember the name of the flick...but it was old...

Wow, you must be from someplace where they still have nasty chain-link fences if you think a pair of wirecutters would get them through. They are talking abotu a wall here, a large concrete wall with a lot of barbed wire, and then electronic monitoring sensors on it that go off when someone tries to get through. Our government may not always be the smartest, but come on, show you are are at least as bright as they are, they arent going to put up a white picket fence and hope nobody crawls over the 3 foot high top. Thats just silly.
We don't need a literal fence. Install sensors and destroy any water stations and take the military out of Iraq and send them there. First, we need to punish the illegals and really punish the people work employ and house them. If you make examples out of business by shutting them down, you will see a serious reduction in illegal immigration.
Maybe it should be an electric fence ...That makes more sense.Don't get me wrong..If they come here LEGALLY fine if not,well.....Put up a sign ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK! In THEIR OWN LANGUAGE.On their side of the fence,ect,ect,ect.

I agree with this man, building fences is a waste of money. Myself, I would prefer to spend the money from the fences on Cobra gunships equipped with night vision. Anyone caught in no mans land--well y'all get the picture. Pile of rotting bodies would most likely deter the vast number of illegals.
I agree with you completely. It does sound like a B grade movie plot. Did you see "Wag the Dog" a few years ago? It gave us some insight into how our President can divert our attention to keep us from focusing on his self serving antics.
Our government wastes tons of our money on dumb projects like this.
