When will people finally realize that prohibition doesn't work?
Did it work on alcohol? NO
Are we winning the war on drugs? NO
When will people finally wake up and realize that prohibition doesn't work and all it does is create a black market for drugs?
Didn't we see the same thing with alcohol?
Do people EVER learn from history?
Answers:
Today, people will realize prohibition is misunderstood.
Big Pharma has been looking for a means to profit from peoples natural and innate desire for altered states for decades, and they have found it very profitable. The federal government is run by corporations, and for their benefit wars are fought.
Alas, we the people are relegated to the prisons in record numbers, and taxed into submission.
edit. OK education is fine, but along with that comes indoctrination and conditioning, and the trust in the power of the state, instead of an emphasis on self reliance. We answered the question, why rate a thumb down?
No look at us we put Bush in office we really don't look at history.
Right... Lets just let it all out and enjoy the atmosphere and aftermath. A world of kids and parents sucking down the Oxycontin, methadone, marijuana, heroin, cocaine. A future healthcare nightmare and lower IQs for children. Better yet when will the pro-drug use crowd put down the Cheetos and do a little research on the subject. Lots of it out there. Can't miss it.
"Are we winning the war on drugs?"
yes , the war on drugs is a huge money maker from fines and penalties , it should really be called the war on the budget
The prison-industrial complex is winning the war on drugs just fine.
The WOD isn't about getting the American people clean and sober. It's about power, control, and jobs programs for cops, courts, and alphabet soup federal agencies.
Only a screaming leftist like the margie s could find a way to not answer your question, and insult Bush.
Anyway, prohibition doesn't work very well, but Cocaine, Heroin, Crack, and Meth do FAR more damage than alcohol. I would NEVER legalize those. However, that being said, if you could come up with a test that would work instantly, and tell how recently they smoked, I wouldn't have a problem with legalizing pot. I would still think that the people who used it were idiots, but I would let them use it. All i want is to be able to test quickly and accurately to bust dopers like you do drunk drivers.
The irony would be that they would probably get it legalized, just in time for smoking to be completely banned by the same leftist idiots who want to legalize pot.
When did you figure it out?....
yesterday?
Laws prohibiting murder are violated as well.
Laws are in place for public good in general, not for the inconvenience of individuals.
Many drugs currently abused have medical uses and are legally available by prescription when needed. Abusers of those drugs have no need, and many of those drugs have
severe side effects that increase with overuse. A young man in Florida ate a fentanyl patch to get high, instead he died.
Cigarettes are being prohibited more and more, with decreases in smoking.
Heroin, LSD, and other drugs have no medical purpose. They are dangerous to the body. They shouldn't be available legally to anyone.
Once upon a time, CocaCola contained cocaine. Prohibiting it didn't create a black-market for cocaine-laced soda.
Drug-abusers create a black-market, not the laws prohibiting dangerous substances.
Rather than rail against the laws, it would benefit our society if more people spent their time to educate against drug-abuse.
