Are there some states that impose the death penalty for crimes other then murfer?
Thats what i heard.
Answers:
In California, the death penalty can be imposed for perjury, IF the perjury caused an innocent person to be convicted of a capital crime and executed.
I don't think anyone has been convicted under this statute, though. It takes 20+ years after trial for a defendant to be executed, and if there was perjury during the trial, it would be known long before the execution occurred, or else never discovered at all. Nonetheless, the law is still on the books.
Treason can bring the death penalty. But that's the only other one I know of.
Do you know how to spell check?
The only other crimes that I know of that get the big stick are treason and terrorism.
No, there are no state laws that have capital punishment for crimes other than murder, and now it requires something extra, like murder while committing another crime or multiple murders, or hate crimes (which I don't understand, is there such a thing as a nice non hate murder)
Dang, murfer's illegal now? You can't do anything fun these days.
PS: I think kidnapping can technically bring the death penalty.
treason but i think it should be repeated sex offenders
There are a few states and the federal government that have the death penalty for crimes other than murder. However, in the last several decades no state has actually executed anyone for a different crime.
Some states do. All should.
There's not a death penalty for murfer...just pun, I don't think so...take care...
