How do i find out if there is a law in michigan that prohibits an unlicensed driver from buying a car?

Answers:
You can look for the law in the Michigan Vehicle Code, although I don't think there is a law like that. If a person is of legal age and capacity, they could contract to buy a car. They could even insure it, althoug the insurance would not cover them driving it because they have no license.

So--a mother who does not drive could buy a car for her son who can drive and even insure him in the car. Makes sense?

But mom can't legally drive the thing herself.

Call the dmv and ask them. Since they are the ones responsible for registration and titling a vehicle - they would know.
Everywhere, if you have no license you cannot buy a car, because you cannot insure a car. You cannot drive a car you cannot own a car. DUH!
