Do questions on yahoo that are taken directly from textbooks violate copyright laws if they do not cite?

I have seen a lot of questions that are pulled right from textbooks, word for word. Is this a violation of copyright law if they do not cite the book it came from?

Answers:
An interesting thought. I like the way that you think. They are probably too short to be more than a technical violation. I doubt that they are legally actionable.

Perhaps Y!A should include this in their "DO" or "DON'T" section of the guidelines.

I'm just ticked that the 'question writer' expects us to do their homework without a context. Also, that they expect hours of research to give them a detailed answer.
