Whats the difference in expunging a conviction or having a conviction vacated and set aside?

Answers:
Expunging is to remove the item for public record; a verdict being vacated and set aside is still a matter of public record.
Expunging is if it never happened. Vacated and set aside means that you can be retried for the same crime.
