I have a for pro gun-control people out there.?
Why do you believe that strict controls on guns, or banning them all together will make people safer?
Do you believe that people that the Government is efficient enough to keep guns out of the hands of criminals? or is it some other reason. Just curious, not meant as an insult. Every person is entitled to their opinion.

It will not solve everything as criminals have a way of getting what they want in any case, but we have to start somewhere don't we? Guns were made to kill and for no other purpose same as nuclear bombs.
I lived in a place full of criminals and with a gun control for years. That is why I know it works.
Now I live in States where the guns is a constitutional right. It doesn't work sh*it from what I can see/
Every place that has instituted gun control has had an increase in crime or the gun control itself was a prelude to increased tyranny (recently Zimbabwe).

Well, considering that the US is the only industrialized country that doesn't have strong gun control, and it also has a much higher violent crime rate than comparable countries, I think it is something we should look into. It obviously wouldn't be perfect, and guns would still get into the hands of criminals. The question is the balance between pros (harder for criminals to get guns) and cons (less defense for victims).
Gun control reducing crime.....it's a pipe dream.
A simple bit of research on 2 cities in this country will show the fallacy of Gun control. Morton Grove, Illinois enacted a total ban on firearms ( in direct violation of the 2nd amendment). Since that time the incidences of burglary, robbery, rape, and other violent crimes have gone up dramatically. Kennesaw, Ga, enacted a law that REQUIRED a firearm in every home. Since that time, the incidences of burglary and violent crime have dropped substantially. Does gun control work!! Absolutely!! It makes it MUCH easier for the predators in society to work their craft.
Generally gun control is the solution of the simple minded. The problem of crime is far more complex that the availability of an inanimate object. Gun control has been shown to be ineffective in reducing crime and in several instances such as in England it has correlated with significant increases in violent crime.
Typically those who favor gun control are either ignorant of the all the facts and the dynamics of our society, or they simply don't care that gun control doesn't work, they only care they did "something", or favor "something" that they view as helping the problem. It is generally irrelevant to them that what they favor doesn't help and may hurt. It only matter that they can feel better about themselves because they did "something". Gun control is generally a knee jerk reaction to violent act someplace and is not well thought our or conceived. As I said a the start, it the solution of the simple minded.
