Why did this 13-year-old kid end up on the Kansas SO Registry?

Solitician of someone under 16. I don't get it. 90% of high school kids would be guilty of that. Am I missing something here?

Sure is confusing. He was 14 years old when he was first registered, but he's accused of being a sex offender. I thought you had to be at least of legal age before you could be classified as such.
Would be mighty hard to be classed as a sex offender at 14 unless you were messing around with someone a whole lot younger than you. Maybe that's what happened?
Without knowing the story behind it, it's going to be awfully hard to figure out why he's listed there.
But, the following link might lend some information. It does mention that anyone convicted on or after April 14, 1994 is required to register publicly- it's called Megan's law.
But that says nothing for this 14 year old at the time's individual case.

He's a sex offender.
this is not enough info, the person is now very close to being 18 but was over the age of 16 when it appears he was caught prosecuted....etc....

is there any link to his actual trial etc ??

regards
yeah that is stupid, but don't worry i know how you feel, every two months i get a letter saying a sex offender moved into my small town.
Knowing absolutely nothing about the kid's situation, my guess is that the "Indecent Solicitation" not only occurred with someone under 16, but significantly younger than him. I'd have to imagine he molested (or attempted to molest) a pre-schooler.

No matter what, it's pretty sick stuff.
Because high school age idiots need to learn how to obey the law.
I dunno. It looks pretty sad on the face of it, but what if he was "soliciting" a 4 year old or something. That would rate inclusion. I imagine they wouldn't put him up there unless it was something significant, but you never know.

Anyway, what do you do, just go through and read these things all day? How did you find that?
I don't know what made him have to reg. mabe it was something like the story in the link below.
