Riverside California Sheriff Dept picks and chooses who they protect?
My sister and I run a grocery store and restaurant in the Country Village in Mira Loma, I saw some guys that seemed to be casing out the place, over two nights. No one had ever seen them before, so I felt a threat. We have over 2000 tenants, and someone should have seen one of them, I would think. They never bought more than a soft drink, but they watched everything we did. So I called the sheriff not 911, but the other number, she said we have to wait till they DO Something before they can respond. So just remember this folks in Riverside, CA. Your tax money is paying for jerks to come after you are hurt or dead, not to prevent it from happening. Ron Couch, Mira Loma, CA

Standing around and just buying a soft drink is not a crime. As a store owner, you know full well that you can legally arm yourself in your store for defense. By all means ,observe, and be ready. To blame the police when no crime has occured is foolish.
And...what would you have the police do? Detain these people? You have stated that they were customers. They purchased a soft drink. I have no idea what you mean when you say that you have over 2000 tenants. A tenant usually refers to a person renting a property. If these folks were acting suspicously, why didn't you approach them? In a nice, friendly way, tell them that you noticed that they were hanging out and you were wondering if thier car was broken down. This would let them know that they had been noticed. And...in the end...didn't it all work out o.k.? You didn't get robbed and you realized something that many of us know already.cops aren't perfect.
