About the Prop. 215 card?

OK, say there was a randomized drug test at work and some guy or gal tested positive for cannibus in their system. Now if they have their medical proposition 215 card on them, can the employers legally fire them or reprimand them in any way?

It's like being punished at work for taking prescribed opiats for back pains.

Answer:
That's a good question. I would think that under normal circumstances, they wouldn't be able to do so. But if the person is working in a dangerous environment and the situation could be harmful or fatal to him/her or others, they may be a little stiffer. Being a receptionist would be a little different. I imagine that would be on a case by case basis, but that person may be able to contest the firing.
