Don't we need better health care for our Veterans?
I think the current system really needs work! Our veterans should be able to go to any doctor they want and be treated at a hospital they choose and one that is close to their home!! My father in law has to drive over two hours to a VA Hospital when he has to have a procedure or surgery. And if unable to drive or he doesn't want to ask anyone to take him, he has to ride on a bus and they will not allow them to bring a drink on the bus and it is very hot!! It is just not right! If he has to have an outpatient surgery, then he has to ride over 2hrs back home and no one feels like doing that after surgery, but they do not have a choice!
Our Veterans should have the best care!! They deserve it!! They put their lives at risk for our Freedom and then they come home and are treated poorly by the health care system! Do you agree and do you have any suggestions on how to make the system better? Voice your stories and opinions!

I agree 100%.
However, the problem is much bigger than that. We need better health care for our ENTIRE country. I mean, c'mon...like greedy, corporate HMOs and Big Pharma are the answer? Yeah, riiiight!
Yes, our veterans should get the best care our country can provide. Notice which politicians are complaining quickest and loudest about the system, and which ones seem to be forgetting about it as soon as it's out of the news, and vote accordingly.
as long as the army is being used by bush as a subsidiary of exxon, i think exxon should pick up the tab for the wounded
It is shameful to see the way vets are treated. Most VA hospitals are so understaffed and underfunded that appointments can take months. Even after getting an appointment the care is minimal. I once saw an elderly gentleman fall out of his chair in the waiting room of a large VA hospital, he was having a heart attack and they were too busy to get him in. I believe that this is one of Obama's big issues that he wants to correct. It is also one of the reasons that I would vote for him.
did you know the VA is diagnosing people with personality disorders instead of PTSD so they don't have to provide treatment?
Yes they do. But the fact is you have a President who thinks otherwise. Why do you think he put up a fight when Congress wanted to add several billion dollars for the Deparment of Vets budget?? Thank God he backed off.
