What can be found out on somebody on a background check.?

that they had a crush on their 3rd grade teacher? that they have a fetish for sexy underwear? what ever you want to know i suppose..
It depends on what kind of background check you refer to. If it's an employment background check they will look into your credit history, criminal background, driving record, employment references, and things like that. If you are joining the police dept. they will check on everything you have ever done or thought about doing. The will speak in person to former neighbors, friends from school, teachers, and more all in addition to the above list.
That depends on the type of background check you do.
Criminal Background check can find out just that, your criminal history, and depending on who is asking possibly your juvenile record (if any).
In my state we also now have a DSS Background check which checks for accusations and open cases for child abuse or neglect.
So it really depends on where you live and what kind of check they are doing. If its just a landlord or potential employer then the only thing they will be able to find out is if you were convicted of something as an adult.
depends on how deep they look . they if they wanted to can go as far as childhood . also depends on whos lookin, ... law, employment, buying a firearm, if doing a background check for employment , they dont go looking very hard, as the people do in law enforcement, and buying a firearm
employment history, convictions, weapons you own, any thing u went to court for,tickets, how far in debt you are , and several other i cant think of right now
