Identify appropriate responses where child abuse is suspected or confirmed?
Making reference to current legislation and policies in UK
Answer:
I'm guessing this is for course work by the way it is worded.
Well whenever you suspect abuse you should now how to handle it.If you work in a school or nursey you would talk to the designated person. You manager or the teacher or the head. You would write down your causes for concern as and when they happen recording as much information down as possible and writing down only the facts. So if a child tells you something you write it down exactly how they said it and not what you think they mean.Depending on what has been disclosed would depend on how you react. A child has a bump on their head and is very quiet about it and doesn't tell you does not always mean they have been abused. They may be tired. You have to know the parents too. Mum may explain that it happened when she fell off her bike or something and she may be quiet for other reasons so you will know the children you work with if something is upsetting them.If a child discloses something which is of concern to you like they reveal they have been abused or something then action should be taken immedietaly, normally within 24 hours. It should be discussed with seniors, Manager,Head etc and reported to social services. To ensure that child's safety.
Go to this site and you might get the information you need. I would give you another site but i cant seem to find the address. I can mail you the PDF File if you give me your email address. I might want to look into it. Its a report on how to identify abuser and what to do for the victims.
social services make some really bad mistakes, and if you are going to work in that field,i hope you are going to be the best.when something relay bad goes wrong they all ways going to learn from there mistakes.when? taking kids into care by mistake and giving the kids back, mud sticks, then missing the kids that end up hurt or dead, its the dead that get in the papers and showes up there mistakes, they have destroyed a lot of lives with there incompetence
