Birth certificate for one born in 1958 in india?
I was born in india in 1958 at Kanyakumari, but it is likely that it was never registered. what is the procedure for getting the birth certificate issued ?.
Answer:
Get a certificate from the nursing home where you were born... then go to the municipal office and Collectorate to get the 'Birth Certificate'...
birth certificate cannot be issued now. alternatively u can secure Date of Birth Certificate from ur Primary School, where u first joined the School. What ever date is entered in the School register at the time of your admission will be considered as ur Date of Birth. And law recognised this as Legitimate and legal.
Ask the British
only get the school certificate
In your case, your birth is in the year 1959 and records are not available. Hence, you have to approach a civil court for getting an order. Sec 13 (3) of the Registration of births and deaths Act, 1969 states that any birth or death which has not been registered within one year of its occurrence, shall be registered only on an order made by a Magistrate of the first class after verifying the correctness of the birth or death and on payment of the prescribed fee.
Therefore, you can approach a court in the area of your birth for getting an order from the court regarding your birth and this order is valid anywhere.
Normally the procedure is like this. You have to submit both the original and photocopies of the Birth Certificate and Discharge Certificate issued by the hospital where you were born to the Corporation, Municipality or Panchayat together with prescribed a fee to get a Birth Certificate.
In case you don't have the hospital's Birth and Discharge Certificates, you should contact the hospital for the same. If they can not give you one because they have no records of patients of as distant a date as 1958, or you were not born in a hospital or nursing home, you should approach the concerned departments with your Secondary Examination Pass Certificate which usually carries the date of birth. Other documents like Passport, Driving Licence, PAN Card may also be used for the purpose. A certificate from some local authority like MLA, MP, Councillor might be demanded in addition. Thereafter, hopefully you will get your Birth Certificate.
