If prostitution were to become legal.?

-it would protect the health and safety of prostitutes
-it would help prevent the exploitation of women, particularly the very young
-it would enforce taxpaying
And many other so-called benefits, as listed by proponents to legalized prostitution.
BUT- should it also be required for patrons of legal prostitutes to give identification/register before receiving the service? What if this information became part of the public domain?
Should people who use prostitutes be entitled to privacy?
Or, should the lack of privacy be the trade off for being allowed to use them legally.
The way I see it, if one was at risk for others knowing, even if it was no longer illegal, it might reduce the amount of people paying for sex. I don't care about the single people, I mean the ones that are married with kids!

Answers:
it would be the same as seeking any form of professional services - such as a doctor, registered but completely confidential.

Can you say "AIDS"?
The fee should be private, just as your medical services are private or how people do not disclose money spent at adult bookstores. However, the legalization of prostitution would put an end to the victimization of women forced to become prostitutes, who are virtually sex slaves. It would empower women. It will never be a noble profession, but it shouldn't be a tax-exempt one. Of course, the health of the prostitutes and of the johns would improve. If they can regulate the porn industry, the regulation of prostitution is possible.
The ones claiming that the diseases would spread have their heads in the sand.In places where it is legal the disease rate is LOWER than the adverage...it comes from the INCREASED scrutiny of the workers for health problems
Since we can't control the moral decay of our society just make it legal. That way, young boys and girls can take college prep classes to prepare for a degree in Extra Cirricular Satisfaction. If there is money to be made every entity will lobby for requirements in order to make money from it. Just like in Vegas when the community college in Henderson offered a class to teach the proper technique to swing around a pole. I wouldn't say it will prevent the exploitation of woman and children. This career choice will only enhance it as it becomes an acceptable norm to society.

If it ever becomes legal patrons should not be allowed privacy unless somehow they becomes a form of therapy for sexual issues a psych is trying to treat. In that case, a perscription for sex would be required and issued by a doctor. Hey, suddenly this sounds like a sound idea.
I don't know why that guy reported you for not asking a question. You asked several questions...he could have just picked one.

1. should it also be required for patrons of legal prostitutes to give identification/register before receiving the service?

2. What if this information became part of the public domain?

3. Should people who use prostitutes be entitled to privacy?

4. Or, should the lack of privacy be the trade off for being allowed to use them legally.

I think prostitution should be legalized, but patrons should have the right to privacy. If they don't have that right, they'll just use fake names or some other illegal means to keep their privacy. Kinda defeats the purpose of making it legal. It does seem like there should be some sort of registration process though, in case there were an outbreak of STDs among that prostitutes clientele. Perhaps prostitutes would have to have an oath of confidentiality, like doctors and lawyers, and only divulge the information under court order.
