What information/paperwork do I need to be eligible to work in the UK?
I have been living in France but am looking into returning home to Glasgow, what do I need to do/get to be eligible to work there again? I wasn't sure what category to put this in, so it may be in the wrong one.
Answers:
Whether you were born in France or Scotland it doesnt matter. Either the French or UK passport you hold will allow you to work in the UK.
You can work in any EU or EEC country.
Basically you need to prove who you are and your address and NI number.
Passport proves who you are, Driving licence or recent utility bill or recent bank statement proves address and either your National insurance number card or a letter from the DWP with your NI number on.
If you dont have a clue what your NI number is, go to the Department of work and pensions website and follow their instructions.
If ye be Scottish Lassie just give the customs chappie a tender Glaswegian kiss. He will be sure to let thee in.
On a serious note. If you used to live here you are a European citizen with rights to live and work here. I don't think you need any paperwork. Good luck.
Just claim asylum, all your worries will be over, free housing/benifits the lot.
passport only i think will ask my mom shes a solicitor. x will let u know .
You don't need anything to start work officially. You will need to give your employer your Social Security number. If you don't have one you will need your passport to apply for one.
if you were born here in Glasgow then you dont need anything, just your ticket home - I would stay in France as Glasgow is swamped with Asian and polish workers and there is no jobs, and violence and racial violence is very bad in and around Glasgow area.
