Is the reaction to Michael Vick's indictment from the public race related or..?
is it the fact that he took part(alledged) in illegal dog fights?
Some sports writers are saying that if he was white the outcry would not be as severe.
Answers:
Which is total BS. The outcry is because of the emotional attachment most of us have to animals and dogs in particular.
Not just the dogfighting either, but the horrible way they killed the dogs that underperformed.
I don't care what color you are if you abuse animals you about barely a step above a child abuser
If anyone plays the race card....
The reaction is so severe because dog fighting is such a heinous thing, it turns most peoples stomachs.
Nope, dog owners are vocal s is PETA, mike is combing the love of animals with the love of people who do not eat animals he is pretty much toast.
rich guy blowing it rated
It's a combination of both.
Cruelty to animals upsets just about everyone, regardless of race.
It's because of the dog fighting !!
I hate the fact that African Americans play the race card without fail whenever they're accused of something.
It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with dogs. People go nuts when they hear about cruelty to animals. There would have been less reaction if he was doing this with people.
they always play that race card rather than have someone accept personal responsibility for their criminal acts.
o.j. got away with murdering two people with it..so it works since we fear being labeled 'racist'.
any white boy making millions of dollars off of the public (fans) would be equally chastised.
American's love their dogs.
well since the media just announced a few minutes ago that his buddies that were with him---have all taken plea bargains and are gonna testify against him..i think it is pretty plain that this NOT RACE RELATED! and -personally---i am tired of everyone making issues about race...ahhhhh!
looks like his buddies are gonna fry him anyway...hope his career is over...and he has to stay away from animals the rest of his life.
good luck :)
The news media always has to find an angle to make it look like there is some injustice or contention about how a public figure is treated. If they dont create a problem, they cant report it and no headlines to sell the papers, etc. The fact is anyone who abuses an animal in this manner would be just as equally reviled by the public. In the last 30 years it has become a mainstay of the media to have a media trial long before any criminal one occurs. The usual sentence is guilty regardless of the facts or evidence, because once again, dirt, sells! How often do you see headlines like "Joe Smoe found Innocent of all charges" on the front page. Good news is usually posted somewhere between the obituaries and the want ads. The fact is that if these charges are true, he has comitted a henious act that deserves the maximum legal penalty provided by law, regardless of his celebrity status.
