What do you think about this story?
I couldn't believe how compassionate and understanding the United States government has been. This is really amazing stuff. The sad reality is she probably wouldn't receive any better treatment if she were in the United States. It takes Canada to intervene on behalf of a U.S. Citizen? What next?

Heartbreaking story.
I wonder have we thought about her. What are those real needs she really needs, and how can WE respond to them? Seems someone is trying to help her in a money way.
I have a friend very sick right now I just found out today although I knew she wasn't feeling well. , She is in her 40s.The news of terminal or chronic illness can be devastating to them, family and friends. "At the time of diagnosis she feels very alone. Like this story---They may not know anyone else who has had this problem. She is also "numb and disbelieving," It doesn't seem fair. So I guess this post I feel for today.
Our lives are not promised to always have what we want or have earned or owned. No mater how unfair it is.
The quality of the care that the people as in this case and my friend will receive will depend to a large extent on the well-being of those friends who are providing their care. Not on anything else. Although I am sure in this case that money wouldn't hurt. It is nice she has her home at that age.
It was very embarrassing and can brings tears to our eyes to hear such sad and unfair tales. So in answer to your question. It isn't fair and it is embarrassing that we are holding back from her when we don't really have too.. Seems there are many stories in life that are sad. This one is of special interest in all its details-shocking how little our country cares how this looks as far as what we are doing. But not surprising.
On sanctions it had a purpose to begin with-just lost some of it's values
Your eyes need some crisscrossing mister!
They should release her money and let an elder live out their life with dignity like they would want too. Sorry I answered your question, but I read this story before you posted.
Fat lot of good economic sanctions have done anyways. How long has it been now. I say we just drop the whole sanction mess as it is a relic of the communist scare anyways.
