According to FBI statistics, aggrevated assault is the most common violent crime. This is followed by robbery, rape and then murder. What characterizes these types of crimes should be so obvious as to not merit comment.
Murder seems to keep popping up there in the top ten. Many forms of crimes are violent and many will rate high on a list like this...but what do you mean by charactorizations?
Probably burglary, but that's using a broad definition of "violent." The major "characteristic" of almost any crime is selfishness.
well iwould think the most common are child abuse (the mental and physical and sexual abuse of children) murder or attempted murder (the killing of animal or human with intent to harm or kill) robbery (to steal or take something with intent to make it your own) rape ( to participate in sexual contact without concent )
