Should we sue this furniture company?
well we put some stuff on lay away about 2 years ago. We've paid almost 4 thousand dollars towards this living set and bedroom and we want them. So last week my mother and I go down to this place and there saying they don't have our stuff onfile which is obsurd. We have all the paperwork. all the copies of the checks and everything. There really not trying to help us because the gives us the biggest attitudes and makes it seem like its our fault. We call we drive miles to see them and the don't do anything. Its getting us mad and now were thinking about bringing them to court. Its it a fair descision. Do you think we have a good reason to do that. I mean all that money where is it. How hell do you lose someone accounts.

If you have receipts for everything you paid on it then I would say yes. You need to check with the small claims division to see what their amount limit is in your state. Call the better business bureau while you are at it, and check with you attorney general to see if there are other complaints against this company.
Well, maybe you should try to schedule a meeting with them, and if they still dont find it after you talk to them, yeah, I think it would be fair.
First look over all your paperwork make sure it is all in line and hopefully you paid by check, if so get copies of the front and backs, or if paid with cash you should have receipts~After you have all that secured and they still aren't doing anything about getting your furniture then heck yeah~bring them to court, 4 grand is a lot of money to not get anything in return
Sure take them to court.
4 years on layaway??, i could not imagine doing something like that ,for that amount of time
Yes, you can and should sue them. I would send them a registered letter stating that that they had 10 days from the receipt of the letter to either find my stuff or refund me the entire amount I had paid to date, and I would include copies of the proof of payment and copies of all original documents, just so they know that you do have them for court if they don't comply. And if they don't, sue them.
lay-away doesnt usually extend into yrs....but if there was no time limit, and you have proof...sue. ..
