Can a Canadian own a gun in the U.S on a E-2 visa?

I would like to know if I could own a gun in the United States
I'm going to the States to open a business on a E-2 visa (I'm A Canadian)
I would like it for shooting rangs and hunting, I'm not a criminal !

Answer:
I look for an answer from both the US Department of State, and the Canadian Embassy. I did not find one. The link below is the US Department of State. Perhaps you could contact them and ask. If anyone knows the rules, they should.

Edit: The form below is the Federal form required for all US gun sales. I see no restrictions against sales to legal aliens, as long as you are not prohibited from owning a gun for other reasons.
