Pat Tillman, a Fallen Hero or a Dishonorable Troublemaker?
My brother, after 21 years,is a retired Gulf War veteran whose last rank that he held was First Sgt. still has a way of finding out things and some of you who big fans of the former NFL player may think again before calling him a fallen hero.
According to good accurate sources, told my brother that after Cpl, Pat Tillman got deployed to Afghanistan with his unit he began writing letters to certian politicians in Wash. DC protesting and criticizing the war, during which he also started questioning his superiors & the orders that they gave him and would also at times refuse to obey orders, then at one time he started tattletaling on the men & women who were in his unit of things that they may have done even though they were minor incidents that did not require immediate disciplinary action at that time
Furthermore,Cpl. Pat Tillman was known to go over his superiors' head and attempt to make trouble for his superiors with their superiors.
Such acts is hardly a trademark of a hero

Until i see actual proof of that im not going to believe it. Got any proof? Why should we take your word.
Tillman deserves just as much "Hero status" as any other soldier who has given his life in combat. By the same standard he doesnt deserve any special status above anyone else, he should be treated the same as any other soldier who served and died in combat.
When you can come through with some hard proof about Tillman, let us know. Im certain if such a thing was true it would have been all over the news.
OK, so if this is true, which none of it is available for public scrutiny, then he'd be basically a disloyal little ****, as far as his unit was concerned. But, there is no mistaking the way he died, it takes moxy to do what he did and unfortunately his death was a result of trying to protect the very folks that killed him. Thats a hero any way you wrap it.
PS. Even if it was verified everything that you said is true, doesnt make his death any less heroic, and nobody deserves to die because they jump a chain of command. Thats not the criteria for ones death being justified. So in short, so what?
We need more heros please, just go down to the local recruitment office, you will be in Iraq in no time.
it was the pentagons propeganda machine makin him out a hero, and his family finally found the truth, and he should be respected as any other soldier that has lost their life doin his duty, no more or no less!
You know, he's not here to defend himself, so lay off. None of us will truly know what happened and what kind of soldier he was unless you served with him.
There are plenty of trouble makers in the Army - why don't you go ahead and disparage them as well? Why is everyone making such a big deal over this guy anyway? His past career as a football star had no bearing on him as a soldier and doesn't matter to other soldiers.
He had a good sports career, but, decided to be a fighter in the foreign land.
Then, once there, many folks are jealous what he has and kill the man.
The details you added here are new to me, but it is no surprise when he put himself in the hardcore military culture (the corrupted and the worst in any plan fields) he is either go alone or he will be in the way of the daily routines.
Hero? it is a meaningless word. Most of the time it leads to the details of human stupidity.
Great source material-- someone your brother knows?
I'm willing to examine any evidence you may know of but at this moment I only know of the autopsy showing 3 shots, tightly grouped, to the head
sounds like a fragging to me
there is no justification for that
1) Without any authentication, your tale is merely hearsay and innuendo,
2) The hero is often the guy that rocks the boat, if something was up, it needed to be brought to the attention of the proper authorities.
3) If he was a troublemaker, and he was killed by friendly fire, that brings up the spectre of murder and cover-up.
OK!! my response to your article is if true and you personally aren't going off on strictly hearsay and researched this it should come out. good-job we shouldn't be live everything the media and the politicians tell us with out some sort of check book accounting. in other words people like yourself with documentation and hard core prof. With saying that and I'm sure you're in agreement with me so far. BUT on the other side of the coin if a person doesn't have prof or documentation should and in some states are now being held liable for slander and defamation of character. if you are trying to disgrace him without checking it with your own eyes then shame on you and I hope you're state is one that will prosecute Have your ducks inarow I will let the Tillmans know of your comments and concerns i hope for your sake your info is well documented and in order theTillmans are my neighbors down here . If you don't have documentation you might want to recant right away what you wrote I know for a fact they wont file charges or their attorney
if you do don't do anything the Tillmans are out of state now but you will have contact with their attorny as soon as we trace down your yahoo account probably a week
there was something wrong mentally with Pat Tillman.
to give up a million dollar contract is not the sign of a hero , but a sociopath. he ehibits all the classic sign. he could have done more good for the war effort influencing children by being a football hero, than by being a soldier picking off Iraqis one at a time. He was probably so obnoxious, such a complete and utter asshole to his fellow soldiers that they had had enough and killed him. I truly believe this is what happened. It was not right to kill him, but I can see why they would want to if they were so aggravated and in fear that instead of acting as a soldier and being part of the team he was a quarterback following his own plays. thinking he could single handedly win the war.
I agree, Pat Tillman was a trouble maker. I also think he was fragged because his fellow rangers had enough of his cocky, condescending, self-righteous, Godless-athiest, liberal attitudes. He was always slamming the president, and our leadership, our country, our God, and talking about how the Iraq war was unjust, and junk like that. Most of the guys in special forces are more conservative types, and got tired of his hippy nonsense, and I think they made sure he ate lead. Fragging may not be the right term since he wasn't an officer, but he was shot three times in the head at close range by an American weapon, according to the coroner. It was no accident. His fellow rangers probably felt he was a liability, and that they needed to off him.
He argued with the orders he got, and jeopardized his fellow rangers, so he is no hero in my mind. Just a macho ahole that felt he would go over there and "show em how its done".
The truth hurts people, but this is how I see it.
