How far back does Lowes go when they conduct background checks for potential zone managers?

I was hired for a zone manager position for at Lowes home improvement. I had a felony conviction 10 years ago. Is there a Florida state law that only allows employers to look back 7-10 years, or do they conduct a "life" background check? I am waiting for the results of the test now & obviously can't ask how far they go back. PLEASE ONLY SERIOUS ANSWERS FROM PEOPLE WHO CONDUCT BACKGROUND CHECKS, LAWYERS OR RECENTLY HAD ONE DONE. THANK YOU!

Since Lowes is a national company, I would guess they pay for the same search services as the national company I work for.

What ever your state allows on its court open records web sites is visible to potential employers, and whoever wants to search hard enough.

Speaking as one who has to do background checks, the best advice I can give is to list anything that may be in public records. Withholding information is often worse than offering it upfront.

I'm not trying to be sarcastic but why don't (didn't ) you ask them. I'm sure there is a restriction on how far back a potential employer can check but did you happen to notice the disclaimer on how far back they check? Of course if your felony conviction is public record (which is most likely is) then there is pretty much nothing you can do about it.
if it shows up on the NCIC background check it doesnt matter how far back it goes...its there or it isnt...their hair follicle dope screen goes back a year...Id say you are pretty much screwed
