Does it feel like the value of citizenship in the USA has lost its value since it can be given away for votes?

Sometimes I think the government cares more about people from other countries than it cares about its own, legal citizens.

Answers:
It hasn't been given away as far as I know. The last attempt was blocked.

The US government has so many grants of aid to other countries making its citizens being neglected. The needs of the citizens such as welfare, education and infrastructure must be given priority by the government.
Apathy.is a primary reason. Also included is a total lack of knowledge of other countries. People here do not know how good they have it. Politicians believe in the all mighty Dollar and follow it like it is the pied piper.
This saying is as old as Rome it self (We have the best politicians that money can buy ) it is still true.
Next election get out the vote and don't take back the idiots that you don't like.PLEASE
