Did I get the job?
I went for an interview today for a receptionist postition. I did a typing test and did okay. They want me back for a second interview on Monday. Heres the problem: on my resume I put down that I worked for my previous employer ( we are really good friends ) from 2004 - 2007 not specifiying that it was only for the tax season. I gave the interviewer her number as a reference along with 2 others. The interviewer called my previous employer and she told him all very good things about me but also informed him that is was only for the tax season. The interviewer didnt call any of my other references. I am really worried that since I didnt specify that I worked for my previous employer for only 4 months out of the year for 3 years that they are going to turn me down. Also, I dont know why he didnt contact any of my other references. So if anyone has any opinions of this please let me know. Thanks - Amanda
Answer:
I am sure that doesn't matter. Where on your resume would you put that! You did it for 3 years... who cares if it was during season
i think you'll find out in a week or two.
I wouldn't have the slightest notion...generally, employers are unpredictable...it's so hard to say! Good luck on whatever occupation you find.
just because you only worked part of the year doesn't mean you didn't work for that person. if the place where you applied got what they needed which was a good reference. then they probably got what they needed. i wouldn't worry so much you didn't lie that's what the job was. they don't rely on all references only your last usually. i was a manager and if i got a good reference for that person and they where qualified they usually got the job.
