Can i not say anything at all??
I'm 17 in OR and there's a case going on about my half brother sexually abusing me. well, when it came time for grand jury, i told the prosicuters that i didn't want this to happen my sister is the one who told the cops. but they told me that it wasn't my choice to stop it or not, well, i went to my other brothers house for almost 2 weeks and my mom called saying that i got a letter saying that theres going to be a trail in NOV, i'm wondering since i'm the vicitm, can i refuse to talk without getting into trouble?
Answer:
Whn you talked to the grand jusry, you started it . Now you have to finish it.
yes . if you get hassled go to your nearest crisis center and they will find a place for you to weather out the storm that you had nothing to do with as far as culpability . sorry for the way life has treated you but as the voice of experience it gets better if you allow it to . be good and be safe .
if you are subpoenaed, then you must testify or risk being in contempt of court...jail and fines.
Unless your state has a sibbling privilege (unlikely), if you havea been subpoenaed to appear before a grand jury and refuse to testify you can be held in contempt and be punished with jail, possibly until you do testify.
If you do not want to testify, you should get a lawyer.
