Canadian Citzen and i want to go/move to the U.S does anyone know the rules and regulations on this?

I was charged with assault causing bodily harm.. and my girlfriend is american, we were planning on living together within the next month, what are the different stipulations as to how and what i need to do, in order to get into the U.S as a Canadian citizen with this problem. Has anyone dealt with this before? or if you have ... what were the different sentences and trails like?

Do you mean that, after you assaulted her, she still wants you to come to the US? Please stay in Canada...we have more than enough wife-beaters in our country....oops, sorry...guess i misunderstood...
