Don't big businesses put a toll on our roads and bridges with their huge trucks?
when they pass a house you can feel the house shaking, i am sure it they are the main reasons for damages to our bridges. also one can see the tracks they make on our highways, when one drives on these roads, it feels like a railroad track and if you don't keep driving in these tracks you can loose control and it causes accidents too! how come no one points at these businesses and demand more responsibilities and demand more taxes. if we need to raise taxes to repair these structures, it is them that need to pay more taxes. they are the ones who use and abuse our roads the most and gain the most out of them. they better not try to increase the prices on the products that the working poor consumes and in a way have them pay for it indirectly!

You hear these people, Mac? Big Bussiness is OVER-taxed! ha ha haha. I wish i could record and hyper-link my very real laughter.
Mac, I think the issue is not how much money is taken from big business. It may be a hell of a lot. Yet given the fact that the money is DOLED out to the rich in all forms of subsidies, it seems futile to tax them for anything.
I say, stop welfare for the rich! the government owes you basic services. You pay for them. Instead, the government uses your money to invade foreign countries for the benefit of the rich. The rich are rich because of your money, the money the government takes away from you and gives it to the rich.
If you want roads to be fixed fight against the war, fight against executive cronyism by impeaching and against pork-barrel spending and over all legislative duplicity by occupying your representatives office. You pay for that office! you also pay for Bill gates mansion!! You also pay for the trucks and you pay for the guns. It is time to TAKE BACK!
You do realize that the use of these trucks allows for a more efficient distribution of a company's products, thus lowering the price for consumers like you and the working poor, right?
Also, U.S. corporations (ie "Big Business") already pay the second highest tax rates in the world. Raising them even higher is a good way to slow economic growth and increase unemployment. But I guess if nobody has a job then nobody will be driving and wearing down our roads and bridges, right?
You should direct your ire elsewhere.
Either way, you're paying the tax. How do you think all of those shiny things get to the stores? How do you think the food you eat is transported? As a consumer, you are just as reponsible as anyone. Go ahead, tax "big business". They'll just pass along the hike to you.
your question is really really ignorant. i am not just saying that because i am one of those truck driver who, according to you, tear up the roads and abuse them to no end.
there is NO WAY that an eventual tax increase is not being passed on. the trucking industry is no doubt a major contributer to road damage, but this economy rides on our backs. the industry already pays alot more taxes then you do and probably are aware of.
so tell me why, we should NOT pass on any proposed taxes to the consumer? maybe we should ban all trucks from the road. let's see what happens then.
Wow, I mean..wow.
This is what we get for letting the government run our education system. People asking questions like this that blindly hate "big business" and don't have any idea about reality.
There is so much ignorance and irrational hatred in this question I don't know where to begin to try to answer it. Actually, I'm not even going to bother. All I can say is: dude, get an education and a life.
don't individual drivers put a toll on our economy by clogging our roads and bridges with their tiny cars? when they pass a house, you can breathe their carbon dioxide omissions, i am sure they are the main reasons for the damages to our lungs. also, one can see the tracks they make on our highways, when one drives these roads. it feels like a neverending line of persons too selfish to carpool or take public transportation and if you keep driving in these tracks you can loose control and it causes insanity too! how come no one points at these people and demand more responsibilities and demand more taxes. they are the ones who use and abuse our roads the most and gain the most out of them. they better not try to make me give up my car and take a bus or train so that the trucks can deliver products that the working poor consumes and in a way need far more than they need my single occupant suv on the road!
