What causes or trigger the dispute between afgha and the us?

i wanted to know when they first become hostile... and what is the reason.. i still don't quite get it

Answers:
It started with the September 11th attacks on the United States. The U.S. was led to believe it was Osama bin Laden who directed it and found that he was hiding out in Afghanistan. The purpose of the deployment to Afghanistan was to capture Osama bin Laden, to destroy al-Qaeda, and to remove the Taliban who provided help to the enemy.

The country itself was never actually a threat to the United States. It was the rebels who took over the country that were the threat and Afghanistan eventually lost their government to them.

The U.S. deployed there trying to help them establish a new government while eliminating any threat in the process.
