Where can I get a breakdown of how the Salvation Armies money is distributed.?
One reason I am asking is that I know for a fact that they spend money on giving every convict in prison a basket on Christmas. I just wonder how many more of their donations are abused...I am sure people would think twice if they knew some of the money was going to murderers and pedophiles.
Answer:
The Salvation Army's USA national office is incorporated in New Jersey.

You can file an Open Public Records Act request with the NJ Attorney General's office for anything they might have on the Salvation Army. You can also go to http://www.guidestar.org/ to find the Salvation Army's last few IRS Form 990 filings which will list salaries of executives as well as other expenses and earnings from donations.
Remember, the Salvation Army is technically a church, so their prison activities are likely part of their ministry and frankly I wouldn't get in a twist about it.
Have you checked thier web site?
let me just toss this one your way.how about at the website they have?
That is public information. They must furnish it to you upon request under FOIA. Just go and ask for it. As for you thinking it is an abuse of their money, Salvation Army is a charity. You don't have to donate to them. Pick another charity that you agree with.
You're joking right?
I'm sure if you contacted the Salvation Army they would give you whatever information they had available.
