Should there be "term limits" on government employees?
Worthless, lazy people infest the government payroll. Perhaps if government jobs had time limits, they would do a better job. These sloths would have to compete for their own job once every two years or so. If someone better or more motivated or helpful applied, the current person is replaced.

Oh my god, that's a great idea. California state workers are the worst. They all have really wide back ends because you know they've been sitting on them for the past thirty years. And the worst part is that they'll collect these fabulous pensions that are a huge unnecessary drain on taxpayer resources. Those jobs are so hard to get, but once you have a government job, I think you'd need to molest a kid on the premises to get fired.

No there should not be term limits. Who are we to say how long a person works for a company and a government job is no different. I do think they should be able to be fired for poor performance though.
I do think there should be term limits on all elected officials though.
I'll agree to that if we do the same for corporations and all other forms of industry and enterprise through out the private world. (not gonna happen)
FYI,
Many large corporations are MUCH more buried in bureaucracy than the federal govt.

Now there's an interesting idea! Yes, I do. A lot of government employees are fantastic, but then job-shift them to keep things fresh, and get the people who aren't doing their jobs out.
Granted that there may be a rotten apple in any basket, your "question" is an insult and a slander against the many very well qualified government employees who perform their assignments in a professional, conscientious, and effective manner, and do it with the honorable intention of serving their country.
Your proposed "term limits" would also violate the laws against age discrimination.
Yes, at least for mangager and directors; they get a sweet deal from their "friends" to get the jobs that should be in the hands of capable people; they do nothing and suck the blood of the tax payers.
