Is suicide a Legal Crime?
Answers:
If you kill yourself. You are dead, why worry?
What is a legal crime?
Yes, it is .
Is your question an oxymoron?
Your name says it all.
There is no such thing as a legal crime. But anyways, I think suicide should be legal, especially in consideration of the terminally ill who are suffering and stupid people too.
I find the term "legal crime" to be quite contradictory, lol, but I think I know what you mean. If you attempt to commit suicide, but are not successful, yes, it is a crime, but no, you would not be arrested. You would definitely be sent to a mental institution, which would probably be pretty similar to jail, however. Also, assisting someone commit suicide IS illegal, and you can be sent to jail for this.
if it was a legal crime then it wouldnt be a crime
No, it isn't.
Attempted suicide is, but once you've successfully completed the act all jurisdictions recognize that you are, well, beyond their reach.
Yes it is because its considered man slaughter even if its to yourself.
It's difficult to define. Suicide is murder, but it is impossible to prosecute the killer.
Even if it was illegal, you couldn't really punish the person for doing it, because they would be dead.
Not suicide, but attempted suicide is a misdemeaner in most communities. Assisting a suicide could net anything from a manslaughter to murder.
If your talking about the ragheads in Iraq, then yes it is a crime, and they are not "suicide bombers" they are murderers, if your talking about someone who is that depressed and lost then no, it's not a crime, it's a loss to family and friends.
Isn't the definition of a crime something that's not legal? I would think "legal crime" is an oxymoron.
Suicide is illegal.
Ironically, in most states suicide is a crime, but if successful there is no one to punish.
We have a huge problem in Seattle with people jumping off the Aurora Bridge. Some land in the water and others land in a parking lot. In both cases there is the potential to harm others, as has happened many times.
I would not think suicide was a legal crime but it sents you to hell it's an unforgiveable sin agaist god don't even think about such things you will be better off.
in your case YES
I don't know try it out and let us know if you got arrested
If you are asking if it is illegal for oneself to commit suicide, the answer, in short, depends. While one can be criminally prosecuted for murder or manslaughter (both result in the death of the victim(s) and both require the unlawful taking of another human being's life), the same cannot be said for one who commits suicide. Because the perpetrator/ victim, whom is dead, is one in the same the prosecutor would (obviously) not be able to try that person for the crime committed. Now, in the case of physician assisted suicide, someone like a "Jack Kevorkian" could be tried for the crime of assisted suicide. In fact, Dr. Kevorkian has been successfully criminally prosecuted for the aforementioned crime. He is currently serving 10-25 years in prison for 2nd degree murder.
Also, it should be pointed out that anyone-- physician, family members, mates, friends, acquaintance (WHOMEVER!) --can be criminally prosecuted, charged, and convicted of assisting someone in committing their own suicide.
Only if you're not successful...
