Notary Public in Texas?

I am thinking of becoming a Notary Public (Texas). I downloaded the application off of the website and read the information they had posted but I am still in the dark on some things. Does anyone have a good website for me to go to so I can get more information? I have seen websites for online classes too. Do you have to take these classes?

Answers:
If you're confused just reading the information posted on the website about notaries, than taking the course is a great idea.

In most states, a state-approved course is required, but Texas is very relaxed on most of those laws. In fact, I saw a special on Dateline or one of those shows, where a person was able to get a fraudulent notary stamp (the stamp actually said "I.D. THIEF") and was completely legal due to some convoluted loophole.

Anyway, my best advice is to take the course if it's offered -- there's no such thing as too much knowledge or too much education.
