What's the name of that law in the U.S. when a teen doesn't want to live with their parents?
i really need to know. thanks.
Answer:
There is a court process called emancipation in which the teen becomes their own guardian, but they have to be mature enough to be able to live on their own.
There is an emancipated minor law but they vary by state so you would have to contact someone to find out the laws in your area. Try contacting the local family court.
A teen can be emancipated, however in most cases they need to prove neglect or abuse on the part of the custodial parent.
Its called Emancipation but there is a lot that goes into it.. It's not just ohh i don't like them because they wont let me have sex with my significant other soo i want to move out...
There is a legal precedence and really almost requires a lawyer to get it sorted out in the court system. Contact a local attorney and talk to them about it... If you are serious about it...
