Can a lawyer represent my husband, that represented against me in the past? or is this considered a conflict?

My husband has retained a lawyer for child support issues, that my sons father used against me for our child support issues. Now he knows my husband is using this lawyer and is having a fit, incase he needs to take me to court ever again, he is saying this is a conflict of intrest and he is going to call the attorney so he wont represent my husband anymore. We have already paid him and we only have one week to court. Is this really a conflict of intrest since hes not representing me?

Answers:
So long as your husband's representation is not related to your son's father's representation, there is no conflict. However, the moment (if ever) the two representations become related, the attorney must recuse himself.

yes he can as long as it is a different case.
It shouldn't be a conflict of interest because he is representing your husband not not youl
if it was a conflict, the lawyer wouldn't do it.
If the lawyer represented you in the past, he cannot represent anyone AGAINST you in the future. However, if he represented your ex AGAINST you, he can represent anyone AGAINST you. He just can't be FOR you in one case and AGAINST you in another. He knows too much about you to go against you.
If your case with your son's farther is over & terminated, I don't think there is.
