If you find minerals under your property (home) is it your's to mine? or does it belong to the 'government'?

Just curious. I remembered seeing a form during my home closing that said something about 'mineral rights' but didn't pay much attention to it.
If you find gold or oil 5 feet or 50 feet under your house (or 500 ft. for that matter) is it your's?

Answers:
In some areas of the country you sign away your mineral rights. Never sign anything that you are unsure of. It may not belong to the government, it may belong to whomever owns the rights, possibly the original owners of the land. In some places corporations own the oil and gas rights and some mining companies own the mineral rights. If you signed a paper that recognizes the rights of another entity to your minerals, you don't own it unless it jumps up into your bed. And maybe not even then.

if you own the property than i belive its yours. it f'n should be.
If you had it on your deed, you signed away your mineral rights.
No you dont own it When you signed the warrenty it states all minerals gas etc, belongs to the State or something like that
Go to your records when you bought the home and read carefully all of it ,, and or go the nearest Title company
And they will kow for sure ,,,Hope this helps
NO ONE can answer your question because ;

1. we have no idea where you live, and;
2. we have no idea what this 'paper' said.
