I just got fired from Walmart for a big mistake; can I still get paid for the past and current pay periods?

So I live in Texas and up until now I had been working in the Tire, Lube & Express bay. Because lately I've had closing shifts and my coworkers insisted on closing up early (keeping me from my fully scheduled hours), I had taken some bad advice from a few of them to just clock in from lunch early to make up those hours slowly.

Apparently, this is against company policy and I just got canned for it. I guess deep down I'm pretty sure I knew it was against the rules, but I wrote it off by skipping the paid 15 minute breaks I was entitled to every other day.

But anyway, my question pertains to whether or not I'll still get paid for the past pay period (that's already been finished) as well as the 60 or so hours I've worked for the current one.

I live in Texas for the record and don't know how laws work pertaining to rightful discharges. Any advice would be welcomed in addition to my question being answered!

Thanks a bunch in advance!

Even if you were fired for a good reason, they still have to pay you for the hours you worked. It might take a while, because I'm sure that because you were fired for fudging time, they might take an exrta magnifying glass to your time cards, and make sure you were actually working when you said you were, but they ultimately owe you for the work you did.

Yes, they have to pay you for any work you have done already, even if they fire you for a good reason.

Texas requires that you get your last paycheck in 6 days if you were fired, and by the next regular payday if you left voluntarily.
You have pay coming to you. They fired you for cause, but owe you the money earned.
Whatever man...I just wanted to drop in and say I LOVE WAL-MART! Sorry about your job dude.
The best advice is if you have questions, hire a lawyer! There may be loop holes or legal remedies hidden in the law you may not be aware of so get some legal advice and good luck.
Yes! They have to pay you for the past days you've worked!!

If you do not believe you were fired for a good reason, you can also file for unemployment and get paid a weekly paycheck until you get a new job.
You will get paid for any hours you have worked.
You'll get paid and if I was you, I would file unemployment although you got fired because it was your fault. Try anyway, it won't hurt. Act like you didn't know and went by what another person told you.

Don't do that again though. You can always ask your manager if you can make the time up. Don't feel bad either. We've all did stupid things at work and some of us has been fired.
