How can a person find out if an employer is reporting state and federal taxes ??
to the appropriate agencies each year?
Someone I know works for a company where although the employer claims he is paying federal and state taxes for the employees, those amts are NOT shown on the check stub. The company is only about 2 years old. She's already called and asked whether the emloyer is paying state and federal taxes but was told that information was private.
Answers:
Wait for the W-2 and see what it shows as your "taxable income." It should then show on the W-2 any amounts that were paid to the state or federal governments.
did you fill out your forms when you were employed with that company? If so would call the Interal Revenue Service they would tell you what you wanted to know but you would have to havethe right information and if it's a regular business it's a felony if she doesn't pay taxes
Did they fill out a w-2? If not, there not.
