How can you divorce someone you can't find?

I've been seperated from my husband for a couple of years and I don't know where he is. I want to get a divorce so I can legally cut him loose but I have no idea where he is. Is there anyway I can divorce him with out finding him?

Answers:
First off you need to show a judge you actively tried finding him Mail a letter to his last known address and post an ad in the classifieds looking for him in the last town you knew him to be...if you get no response then your good to go in a judges eyes most of the time.

Yes you can divorce him.they have a way of advertising a legal notice for a number of weeks...consult an attorney.
I have a friend who had a similar situation. She worked with a lawyer to place an classified ad in the paper letting her husband know that she was filing for divorce (he had run off). After a period of time, I think it was 2 or 3 months, she was able to go to the judge and show that she had made a good faith effort to find her husband. The judge granted the divorce.
